Network concepts
- Describe a network as a collection of objects (vertices) interconnected by lines (edges) that can represent systems in the real world
- Define and use the network terminology: vertex, edge, degree, directed networks and weighted edges
- Examine circumstances in which networks are used in a variety of real-world applications
- Construct a network diagram to represent information from a given table or map, showing weighted and directed edges
- Solve problems involving network diagrams in a variety of practical contexts
Shortest paths and spanning trees
- Define and use the network terminology: path, tree, spanning tree and minimum spanning tree
